Having snacks while on the road is essential to a good trip.

Iara’s nest for the weekend has appropriate designs; it makes her happy.

Iara decided to visit some relatives in the Phoenix Zoo!

20180303_122457

She finds a sunspot to relax in as she makes her way toward her relatives…

20180303_162853

Iara encounters a Carnotaurus…who doesn’t seem too friendly…

20180303_124623

…then she finds a prickly ankylosaur…

20180303_124747.jpg

…and a preoccupied Coelophysis.

20180303_125144

The Dilophosaurus seemed a bit dramatic, especially since it spewed water every few minutes!

20180303_155742

Of course Iara had to take a picture of the Utahraptor…who seemed right at home in the desert.

20180303_125407

The Diabloceratops seemed rather judgmental, by the way it looked down on her!

20180303_12530320180303_16265320180303_125525

Then Iara realized why–she was a mother, protecting her nest!

20180303_125735

20180303_162413

Iara ran into several mothers…the next was a Citipati, protecting her beautiful blue-green eggs.

Then Iara found a mother Quetzalcoatlus, protecting her brood. She didn’t know pterosaurs kept their nests on the ground, too!

20180303_130316

Iara then saw something rather large through the trees…who could this be?

20180303_130829

It was a Tyrannosaurus rex! Iara loved her coloration.

20180303_130653

Her baby was just as impressive, if not adorable!

20180303_155542

Iara had lots of fun on her visit to Arizona’s Phoenix Zoo! She looks forward to sharing more adventures with you!

Iara’s First Con

20170520_123344

Iara prepares herself for her next big adventure–her first convention with her owner!

20170520_120717.jpg

Since Iara is an anthropomorphic dinosaur, she feels she will fit right in.

20170520_171928

The first creature she runs into strikes a menacing pose. She decides to keep a safe distance…

20170520_171952

…and this creature was too tired for words. She begins to feel out of her element…

…until she finds some of her relatives! Two fellow raptors and a friendly Cryolophosaurus.

Of course, the local mammals all decide she is too cute to pass up posing with.

20170520_155012

In one hallway, Iara finds two Dutch Angel Dragons, a species she has never encountered before in the wild. Truly, a rare opportunity!

20170520_155020

One of the Dutch Angel Dragons, a brown female named Telephone, takes an instant liking to Iara. Iara expects to be eaten…

…and instead finds herself atop Telephone’s head! Astounding!

20170521_162620

Surely, this is the most strange beast Iara had ever seen. She had to pose with it.

Iara endured many big hugs and jaws, but she had a great time at the convention!

She made many friends, and she hopes to see more soon!

Iara Visits the Discovery Cube OC

20170409_085951

Iara starts off her morning with a warm cup of tea. She knows she is in for another adventure!

She calls ahead on her Bananaphone V8. She knows Bubblefest can be a busy time at the Discovery Cube OC, even for her dinosaur relatives! Fortunately for her owner, the tickets haven’t sold out.

20170407_113718.jpg

The interior of the Discovery Cube was filled with children and tons of hands on exhibits. Iara preferred the signage right away.

20170407_115658

Iara was relieved to see one of her relatives at the Discovery Cube…

20170407_115134

…only to see he was wasting away to bare bones. At least he still was able to digest his food.

20170407_115522

Watching her giant herbivore friend eat constantly made Iara hungry. “There must be something to eat around here!” Iara complained to another of her kin. Alas, she was reduced to bare bones. “I guess you’re on the paleo diet,” she grumbled.

20170407_112705.jpg

Iara made her way back inside the Discovery Cube. She found the Museum Store. A chubby Tyrannosaurus rex was guarding his relatives. “Maybe you know where I can get something to eat…?” Iara asked hopefully as she sat by the group of dinosaurs.

The T.rex’s answer was…

After doing some digging, Iara discovered a picture of her relatives staring down dinner. She sighed. It was time for her to go home…the bubbles were beautiful, but were not edible.

Thankfully, Iara was able to share dinner with her owner. It was a nice end to a long day out!

Iara can’t wait to have a new adventure!

Iara Goes to Dino Fest

20160925_160808

Iara decided to stop by one of her favorite places…and discovered Dino Fest!

20160925_131031

Iara becomes acquainted with a model of what she used to look like, all the way back in the 1990s. She’s glad she’s gotten a makeover!

20160925_155645

20160925_131319

20160925_131303

Iara saw some books and drawings about dinosaurs…

…and she made some new friends, too. They are all paleontologists and paleo artists!

20160925_134303

The best way for Iara to end the day was to ride home in style!

20160708_131554

She can’t wait for her next adventure!

All of the above images were taken during the first annual Dino Fest at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
